In May of this year TELBO, the local telephone company, inaugurated its new satellite ground station that puts Bonaire on the Internet map. With an 8-megabit pipeline (and the ability to increase it as needed), Bonaire now has a spot on the international backbone of the Internet via satellite. Fast access The system is operated by a trained team of engineers and technicians and is protected against power loss for even more reliability. Not only that, the satellite allows TELBO to offer complete service to its customers: local, inter-island, international, cellular and Internet all at attractive prices. With reliable, fast access and the natural beauty of the island, Internet companies can now think seriously about establishing themselves in Bonaire. Especially now that we are so close to the rest of the world. |
