Croccantino
Creative Italian cuisine in a Bonaire environment
Set in a restored Bonaire home dating back to the mid-1800s, Croccantino features dining on a romantically lighted patio right in the heart of Kralendijk. Or you can dine in one of the home's cozy "family" rooms inside with air conditioning. Feast on lobster fresh from the sea, brought to Bonaire regularly by local sailors and fishermen. You can enjoy it gently grilled and served with vegetables, or prepared with herbs and olive oil on a bed of fettuccini. There is even fresh lobster soup every day. Or you may prefer Spaghetti Klein Bonaire, a mixed seafood platter of shrimp, calamari, scallops and fish all sautéed with olive oil, garlic, oregano and tomato sauce then set atop a steaming plate of spaghetti. And there is always the Mediterranean Diet Special offering green salad, choice of fish or chicken main course, followed by fruit salad and coffee. All for just $20. An interior garden is available for large groups (20 to 70 people) who want to dine together in privacy and is a popular place for local parties. Small old Bonairean buildings surround the courtyard which is gently landscaped and lighted to take you back in time to the Bonaire of years ago. The new Espresso Bar inside the house is a cozy place to sit late at night and enjoy this classic Italian beverage. Try one of our special tropical drinks or sip an aperitif with your dessert. Partners Elizabeth Wigny, Moreno Binelli and Alberto Congiu have worked hard to create this special Italian ambiance in the heart of Bonaire. |
