Just look at these faces
These are great kids and there are about 1,000 of them on our small island. But like teens everywhere they need a supervised place to go after school. Some of them get out of class as early as 12 p.m. -- yes, noon. They start at 7:30 a.m., but the local high school is not air conditioned so they have to stop early.

And the smiles
Jong Bonaire is a non-profit after school youth center for the teens on this Caribbean island. They come to the center for sports and games, to work on computers and do their homework. The teen center is operated by a non-profit foundation established in Bonaire in 1959. You can get more information about the center on our Jong Bonaire pages and check our references.

Until the Jong Bonaire teen center was opened in 1999 fewer than 10% of the teenagers had planned activities in the afternoon. Now we have about 25% as members and hope to increase that amount. We can with your help.

What do you do with the money?
A center like Jong Bonaire is costly. We have a staff of 8 professional youth workers, we subsidize the cost of healthy lunches and we provide transportation to be sure the kids get home safely. While we get great support from the Island Government and the local community there are only about 12,000 people living here, with lots of economic problems. That's why we need donations to cover about 1/3 of our expenses and to fund our growth. We hope we can count on you to support Jong Bonaire at the World's First Internet Banquet and Scuba Dive.

How do I donate?
There are several ways you can donate to this worthy cause. We have even established a 501c(3) foundation in the United States to simplify tax deductions for US citizens.

The easiest way is to make an on-line donation with credit card. We use the secure CharityWeb system. You can donate at any time while you are at the "banquet." Simply click the Donate Now button at any time. You'll get a receipt almost instantly and so will we. You can learn more about CharityWeb on the donation page or by clicking thier logo.

Bank transfers or mail-in donations to the US Foundation are also easy for those who don't like to pay on-line. You will find all the information at the donation location. Be sure to also send us your address, phone and e-mail in case you are a door prize winner.

Transfers or deposits at Maduro & Curiel's Bank on Bonaire are just as easy and you still qualify for the door prizes.

From Europe and South America you can also use a credit card on the CharityWeb system providing your bank has made arrangements for dollar-denominated payments on the Internet. Or you can make bank transfers to Bonaire. It's your choice, but you may find CharityWeb a lot easier!
