Bonaire has been rated the
number one place to learn to windsurf by WindSurfing
Magazine. And for good reason. A perfect shallow bay with
almost constant winds make it easy for young and old to give
it a try. For experienced windsurfers, the conditions are
ideal to practice and enjoy carve jibing and chop hopping.
The area is wide open for both beach start and water starts
so you can surf the way you want.
At Bonaire Windsurf Place,
owners Constantino 'Patoen' Saragoza and Elvis Martinus will
make sure your windsurfing experience is a positive one.
Lesson packages are designed so people actually learn the
sport or improve it. Elvis and Patoen believe in safe, easy
and speedy learning so people can enjoy
windsurfing.
Both owners have been
Antillean Windsurf Champions and Olympic representatives.
Together they have created a dynamic and effective way of
teaching. Young people that they have trained recently
brought home most of the medals from a regional contest in
Florida. Several of these champions are members of Jong
Bonaire.
Elvis and Patoen have also
created a relaxed beach environment where windsurfers can
spend the entire day. The facility covers almost 3,000
square feet, with a covered deck overlooking the beach and
brilliant blue water. There is a sandwich bar with snacks
and assorted beverages. And every kind of equipment you
could ask for. Lounge on the deck or on the beach or a bit
of both. There is plenty of room for both sport and
relaxation.
Patoen and Elvis hope to
see you at Bonaire Windsurf Place and to have the chance to
share their love of the sport. You can also see how they
share it with the youth of Bonaire.
